terrace version, billings montana
March 10th performed twice in one house at 1:00 and 1:30ish. a visions 2000 triple slider was the instrument of choice. improvisation for fox news and screw gun was the musical piece for this performance.
march 11th performed one more time at same location. encore. music sound of daughter and mother of house chatting with me. a discussion group on how to open windows took place after the show.
made forty bucks at this show. it was so good she didn't even realize i had performed this monumental piece for her. money well spent.

August 4th, 2009. Leipzig, Germany.
I'd been working on a show for a few weeks in Leipzig last summer. The goings to and from the gallery would take me through various neighborhoods-- some of which were completely abandoned-- boarded up, gutted, or just vacated in a hurry & left to rot.
I passed this window nearly every day. The window was quite closed. No attempts made to open in it, even by local drunks. Although in doing so, one could only imagine as to what lay in wait.

8:51 am, Feb 3, 2010 EST Harpswell Maine by Crank Sturgeon
In lieu of loo. Screened vista of the ash tree that lurks outside... the view over my potty. It's a hand cranked skylight window. Opened & closed three times; didn't want to let the warm air escape. I'll be filling the room with warm air shortly anyway, in the form of methane.

Greetings
so i've been throwing around the idea for this blog. i love the idea. George Brecht is amazing. or he was R.I.P. his event scores were spot one in my opinion and this one always struck a chord with me. but within the last five years it really has. for the last five years i've been installing windows for a local Billings company. so just with my work i've performed this piece alot. in many locations for eight hours a day monday thru friday without fail(unless i'm there to fix a window that won't open). and i thought it would be interesting and funny to see how many times i've done it with or without thought of it as a performance. because i see them as all performances from a fluxus and immediatist standpoint. love the idea of performing this without the homeowners being aware that its actually a performance and not just a service i'm provings. i should also post in this first blog the event score text for this so you all know what i'm talking about.
ENJOY!
THREE WINDOW EVENTS
